The Right Clean for the Right Surface
Hardscape is not one material, and it should not be cleaned like it is. This is the one place where the honest answer is that it depends on what you have. Solid concrete can take a proper deep clean and often benefits from it. Flagstone, natural stone, and pavers are softer, more porous, and held together with mortar joints, so they need a gentler touch or you end up with etching, chipping, and loose stones. I clean each surface the way it should be cleaned, and I tell you up front which one you have.
What We Clean
- Concrete driveways, walkways, and garage aprons, including oil stains and tire marks
- Flagstone patios and walkways, cleaned gently to protect the stone and its mortar joints
- Natural stone and pavers
- Brick and stamped concrete
- The algae and grime that make hardscape slippery in shaded and damp areas
The Honest Difference
Concrete
Durable enough for a surface cleaner and higher pressure, which is what lifts oil, grease, and set-in grime out of the pores. This is where pressure has its place.
Flagstone and natural stone
Soft and porous. High pressure erodes the surface, chips the edges, and blasts out the mortar between stones. These surfaces get low pressure and the right cleaning solution instead, so they come clean without the damage.

Common Questions About Driveway, Flagstone, and Patios
Can you pressure wash my flagstone or natural stone?
I clean it, but not with high pressure. Flagstone and natural stone are soft and porous, and high pressure erodes the surface and loosens the mortar between stones. I use low pressure and the right solution so it comes clean without the damage.
Can you get oil stains out of my concrete driveway?
Concrete is durable enough for a surface cleaner and the pressure needed to lift oil, grease, and tire marks out of the pores. That's exactly the kind of surface where a deep clean works well.
Will the algae and grime come back?
On surfaces where soft washing is the right method, treating the algae at the source keeps it away far longer than a plain rinse, which just wets it and moves it around.
